Creative Connections Club

Art and its mediums are such a powerful and moving way in which both children and adults are able to tap into their inner world to express themselves without words. Art has been around for centuries and the healing nature of art is a pure work of art to watch unfold.

Creative Connections Club draws on art therapy interventions combined with child centred therapeutic approaches to provide a safe, nurturing and non-judgemental space. Creative Connections Club gently guides children to express themselves through art. 

The art and the process of making art truly is the canvas in which children explore their world, their feelings and thoughts in a way that is meaningful to them. In addition to this, children build on their self-worth, confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self.

Art ignites the whole brain from creativity, to executive functioning, to the emotion centre and not to mention the sensory input.

Creative Connections Club allows children to explore their world, their feelings and thoughts in a meaningful way to them, in addition to building their self-esteem, confidence and connection to others within the group space.

Suitable for:

• Children aged 7-12years

Program Overview:

An initial parent consultation will take place to discuss your child’s needs. This is then followed by an initial child session to support rapport building and orientation to the therapeutic environment.

Each session the children are introduced to various art mediums and have time to complete an art piece which may be a directive or non-directive activity allowing children free expression. Children are given the opportunity to share their art with the group.

At the end of each term block a parent session is completed to provide feedback on your child’s participation.

Time: 5:15pm-6pm

Duration: 45 minutes

Cost: $88 per session

P.N cost can be claimed through NDIS if self-managed or plan managed
