A Sea Of Friends.

A Sea of Friends is designed to provide children with extra support and skills to navigate friendships and develop social confidence. Each week children will go on an adventure exploring fun themes. A Sea of Friends is a structured play based program following the principles and framework of AutPlay Therapy, which is a well researched play based, behavioural therapy approach. It incorporates play experiences that promote and support skill development and a positive sense of self.

Suitable for:

For children who lack social confidence, struggle in their friendship skills have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays or other neurodiversity.

Program Outline:

In this play based program children will be guided on topics to support the development of key social skills and play skills: sharing play ideas, cooperative play, winning and losing, following direction and flexibility in play, conversation skills, making and maintaining friends, developing a positive sense of self and exploring tricky friendship days and friendship drama.

An initial Parent and Child appointment is facilitated to learn more about your child’s needs and as a way of introduction. Weekly session updates are provided to parents along with any further information that may support your child at home or school. A final Parent Check-In is facilitated at the end of the program to provide parent’s with their child’s engagement, observation and feedback.

Group size are limited.

Group 1

Commencing: Please note that the Saturday group details are to be confirmed.

Group 2

Commencing: Monday 10th February 2025

Dates: The program will run fortnightly for term 1 and 2 on Monday’s (please note no session on public holidays).

Time: 5pm - 5:45pm (duration of each session is 45 minutes)

Cost: $98 per session

P.N fee can be claimed for Plan Managed and Self-Managed NDIS participants.
